The 2018-19 Leadership Hancock County hits the home stretch with the first of three seminars on leadership on Feb. 6.
Meeting at Greenfield Banking Co., the class will hear presentations on servant leadership and boardmanship and will meet representatives from Hancock County service clubs and learn about what they do.
Because of time constraints, a tour of Greenfield-Hancock County Animal Management had to be canceled on Government Day Jan. 10. The board is discussing adding a tour to the next class day to make up for the canceled one.
BOARD INSTALLS NEW TREASURER
Dianna Hawkins, a finance professional at NineStar Connect, has been named treasurer of the Leadership Hancock County board of directors. She replaces Tony Zurwell.
Hawkins, a member of the Class of 2016, will oversee all of LHC's financial transactions, including expenses for class days, tuition payments, and monetary contributions to the organization.
Founded in 1996, Leadership Hancock County was conceived as a pipeline of sorts for emerging leaders. Since then, more than 400 people have gone through our program. On that roster of graduates are CEOs, political leaders, educators and key managers in dozens of organizations.
Our program works to foster leadership skills in promising students in an immersive, eight-month study of our communities and the qualities that go into making strong leaders. Along the way, enrollees learn how to work as part of a team, and they gain valuable insights into how to communicate effectively and contribute to their organizations in impactful ways.
If you or someone in your organization is on a leadership track in your organization, we'd love to hear from you.
Leadership Hancock County is a tuition-based program. The vast majority of those funds go into our programming. You can support us by donating financially; volunteering your time or services; or enrolling someone from your organization in the next Leadership class.
